DOWNLOAD TRAILERS : I have an easier solution, but may only be an option with Netscape. On a page with an embedded Quicktime file, hit Ctrl-I and you get thedocument structure. The upper frame will list all the images andembedded objects (WAV files, MOV files, etc.). Clicking on the linkthat looks like "Embed: blah/blah/blah/something.mov" will bring up adescription in the lower frame, from which you can download itdirectly. Usually. ___________________ __________ W I D E S C R E E N PAN & SCAN - -...or if you are running Windoze, just let the Quicktime file load into theweb page and go to your "Temporary Internet Files" folder. You'll find the".mov" file in there. Just copy it to somewhere else on your hard drive andyou'll have it for keeps!--He who laughs last... | Justin Wigg - Hobart, AUSTRALIA...thinks slowest. | Reply: From: ()Subject: Re: Is there a web site where I can download trailers to my hard drive? Newsgroups: , Date: 2001-05-10 15:22:01 PST I use excellent choice of file sizes etc. etc. DOWNLOAD TRAILERS : (well for the average user, this is true =) I figured out how to download it to mydrive.. hehehe)Anyways, you're forgetting that in a year, there are how many new people online ? Andsecondly, There were more mirror sites up for LOTR.... It's a damn good trailer.. but Ibelieve Phantom Menace started this "trailers on the net" thing. So it paved the wayfor LOTR's.. People are no aware that you can actually view or even download trailersoff the internet.Just wait until Ep II, it'll beat LOTR's.. Then another movie will beat it.. then EpIII will beat it, and another will beat Ep III. It doesn't mean that one movie isbetter or a fan favorite then other. So it's no use starting these messages thatsuggest that.At any rate, the LOTR's trailer is awesome. I'm so excited about this movie.--Peter FergusonSheridan StudentStar Wars Fan - Visit my Starwars RPG site at And don't forget to vote, head to 'Extras' for the booth. DOWNLOAD TRAILERS : Does anyone know a good place to DOWNLOAD trailers. Seems everyone is goingwith streaming format. I used to be able to hack the file name from the pageand sneak a download but they are doing something different now. I'm on dial-upso it can take upwards of an hour to get a 60sec trailer and in the case ofWillard the damn page exits after you view it and if you want to watch a secondtime you have to start OVER!Or better yet - does anyone know how these things are stored in the IE cache. Iwould think it has to be on my computer somewhere unless its all in memory.I know that sucks, and over dialup the video are not smooth at all evenif the site claims it's optimized for 56K. It's the damn server thatjust won't keep up. Some videos do contain the link to actual video butonly if it's http or ftp link. Otherwise it's propierty link and youcan't simply leech it off. DOWNLOAD TRAILERS : Some videos are just stored in memory. I even tried to set the limit to999 seconds to try and force the player to download *all* beforestarting to play but it doesn't work on streaming video. There are a way to steal streaming video but that works only if you havefast connection and the server's stable. There's a couple program thatcaptures the image right on your monitor and saves it to the hard diskbut it's not too reliable and will pick up interruptions and hiccups inthe download. If all else fails, I hit P2P programs as someone may have had a bettersuccess.I use for downloadablequicktime trailers. They are good enough to put them onto to VCD andwatch them on the TV.On Wed, 26 Feb 2003 07:35:21 -0800, "Richard C." typed:Must be a real bitch to download those suckers over a measly 1mm wiresconnected to an itty-bitty 3" by 4" modem. LOL Not to mention your PCwould have to be outside for the full size trailers or you'd have a hardtime getting it out of the house. DOWNLOAD TRAILERS : I like collecting good trailers for films, but have never been able to finda reliable way of downloading trailers off apples website. I typically visit but that appears to be redirecting to Apples site moreoften than not now...anyonw know of an app that can succesfully suck thesetrailers down? You cant right click save these files and the links in thesource code only dowload a 1 kb file....any help would be great.I think you need QuickTime pro coz that has an option where you can 'saveas' ....Probably a tactic by Apple to sell the pro version ....I can upload any you want to the news-server or post the complete link.on 12/11/01 6:52 PM, HaZ fumbled with some concepts and produced the messagebelow:Once you have downloaded the movie (ie, you watch on as it is embedded onthe page) have a look in your Temp Internet files folder. If it's not there, just do a search for it using the quicktime extension. Can't remember whatthat is. Anyway, you can just copy out of there anywhere to where you want.
