FREDDY VS JASON TRAILER : P.S. - I don't think I can withstand another screening of the "Charlie'sAngels: Full Throttle" trailer. ESPECIALLY not the one with the lecherousmelting snowman. And I sincerely hope "Pirates of the Carribean" is betterthan the trailer indicates. (Depp's character looks like something out of"Absolutely Fabulous," and I can't remember the last pirate-themed movie Iactually enjoyed.) I keep seeing the trailers for those two movies over andover again.Boy, am I glad I've missed this. Jason's look has changed as much as the Big-G'sthroughout the years (Jason X being the most radical, Jason 7 being thebest 'look'). In the new movie, Jason is wearing a thick, tatteredmustard-yellow jacket - something he's never had before. It looks toinclude scenes of Jason at various stages of development anyway, so yesthey've both been 'radically' redesigned. Quick, someone alert WB2K! FREDDY VS JASON TRAILER : As to wether the movie will be any good, I certainly hope so. It'sdirected by Ronny Yu who has yet to make a true stinker (US criticsdidn't like his 'Formual 51', but it was well recieved in the UK and isdoing very well as a rental) and he did make the classic HK horror,'Bride With White Hair'. Beyond that, FvJ looks appropriately dark,creepy, and weird, which means it stands a DAMN good chance of rankingas good as the earlier films in each respective series, if not rightalonside the originals. Tall order, I know.I've shied away from plot particulars and spoilers, but what little I doknow, what will be common knowledge before too long, sounds entirelypromising - a movie with an actual story in it, not just a clipcollection of the two characters beating on each other. I know itprobably won't be a classic, but it should boil down to being a goodfilm with some great scenes in it. I'm hoping to be as suprsied asanyone else would be though. In the preview I thought two scenes werealready awesome; 1) the figure that leaps from Crystal Lake onto thedock, not sure which character it was but this was a well composed shot, very sudden and chilling; 2) Freddy leaping out from Jason'sshadow - good lord, that was cool! But for KellyRowland, it was her first movie-making experience period, and frankly itscared the crap out of her."I was afraid of Freddy and Jason.
