In Texas, all tandem axle trailers require a title as well as any trailer over 4000# capacity. To get a title , one needs to present the vehicle to Dept of Public Safety for inspection of vehicle and documentation. Owner would need to replace axles with brake axles, which are expensive relative to the price of this unit. Not only is this trailer illegal, it is dangerous. Good work on making the clarification. To expand a little, if someone files for a farm tag but uses the vehicle for other commercial or recreational purposes, it is a third degree FELONY, with state prison time and heavy fine involved.
