A regular Columbine waiting tohappen. Am I getting close? Got your pre-order in on Postal 2 yet? Please share your source for this information. Oh nevermind... it's yourass. Please DON'T share.Who is "they"? There's your persecution complex showing again. What are yougonna do, shoot "them" with your lightgun?Hey, don't be bitter just because Halo isn't coming to the PC any time soon,if ever. Though if it does, it will be amusing to watch you backpedal like acircus bear on a unicycle. "Bestest game EVER, except you can't shoot guysand make their brains fall out!"

TRAILER MOVIE : I came across this small tibit of info while doing a yahoo search:I'm working with a Hong Kong director on a trailer for a film based on an oldHong Kong movie The Five Deadly Venoms. I did a series of Sprite commercialswith some Rap stars that was a take-off on that film and Iron Monkey. Theythought it was done by another Hong Kong guy."-Jeff Pruitt-I know Jeff lurks sometimes in this NG so maybe he'll post some info on this.Antoine Fuqua, director of Replacement Killers and Bait, directed those Spritecommercials with Jeff directing the fights. Kool Keith AKA Dr. Octagon AKA Dr.Doom AKA Black Elvis AKA Mr. Gerbick AKA Poppa Large AKA Sinister 6000 AKAKeith Turbo AKA Robbie Analog AKA Willie Biggs AKA Clean Man AKA Rev. Tom AKARhythm X AKA Willie Natural AKA Fly Ricky: The Wine Taster AKA Mr. Green AKAKeith Televasquez was the star of the commercials and is the only rapper wortha damn that is releasing records nowadays.

TRAILER MOVIE : 1. The Abyss (The music, the scene choices, the editing, the sense of importance... it's all there. I can watch this one over and over.) 2. Switchblade Sisters (A true howler. If the bad acting, ridiculous narration, or 70's period music doesn't send you to the floor in fits of laughter, the blurbs from critics at the end of the trailer are just as outrageous. Kudos to Quentin Tarantino for re-releasing this gem.) 3. Independence Day (The explosion of the White House is forever seared into our collective memories, regardless of whether you saw the movie or not.) 4. The Empire Strikes Back (The "venetian blind" effect, used in reacquainting us with the main characters, was very classy, and hinted at a more adult tone for the sequel. The trailer had just enough clips to whet your appetite, and Darth Vader's breathing at the end was the perfect closer.) 5. Twister (Okay, the movie sucked, but the trailer sure pulled everyone into theatres. The use of a two-second "shock" clip at the end started a trend that was copied by many trailers afterward--including Air Force One and Anaconda, among others.)

TRAILER MOVIE : 5. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (One of the most brilliant marketing campaigns ever, T2 featured three great trailers, but the best is still the first "teaser" trailer with the Terminator assembly line creating another Arnold.) 7. Howard the Duck (The "Duckumentary" trailer was witty and hilarious--everything the movie wasn't.) 8. Mouse Hunt (The second trailer that featured the repeated phrase "This is the House. This is the Mouse." Very atypical trailer for a feature of this type. Clearly aimed at a more adult audience. I've only seen it once but I haven't forgotten it.) 9. Naked Gun 2 1/2 (or was it 33 1/3?) (It's Sense and Sensibility, no, wait... it's Inspector Drebin! The footage of the lovely young woman running in the English countryside accidentally sent plummeting over a cliff by our man Drebin was never intended to be in the movie, but audiences loved it so much the studio cut it in anyway.) 10. Friday the 13th (Well, when I saw the trailer in the theatres, *I* was scared.)

TRAILER MOVIE : Honorable mentions: Godzilla Scream Halloween Faster, Pussycat, Kill, Kill! Some of the trailers I remember most are actually campaigns -- series oftrailers. For some reason, I love it when a marketing department has anopportunity to really get it right. I have a few to add:1. WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?They showed the first few minutes of the Roger cartoon, then interruptedit for the now-legendary pullback to reveal Joel Silver dealing withBaby Herman's freak-out. The first time I saw this in a packed theater,I'd already had a chance to see it myself, when it first came in. I wasa projectionist, and I threw this on as soon as I opened the box. Iknew what the film was, and had been anxiously awaiting anything. Iknew the trailer was amazing, and I heard the sound of every jaw in thattheater hitting the floor. Hilarious, beautifully animated, and aperfect summary of the film's concept. The second trailer, which showedmore varied footage, was also a great one.
